Rare 5 pedal Orchestal Upright Grand made in NYC
Wing & Sons, Style 29 Cabinet Grand with very ornate case and rare 5 pedals orchestral attachments.Orchestral attachments were to mimic the tones of stringed instruments; mandolin, guitar, harp, zither and banjo. It is a real find for a musician or lover of unusual instruments. It is also a real piece of Americana and NY history. Wing & Sons started as Doan, Wing & Cushing in NY at West 13th and 9th Avenue in 1868. They produced only 990 pianos in 1893 starting with serial number 23000. Very few remain in existence. This piano was made in the first quarter of 1893 and bears serial number 23016. Style 29 was the top of the line model and sold in 1893 for $1,200. That was a LOT of money back then!Similar pianos with later serial numbers have sold fully restored for $14,000 and up. I have reduced the price from $8,500 to $5,500.This piano is in very good condition with all original ivories. Please obtain your own quotes for shipping to your location.
