STEINWAY CHIPPENDALE MODEL M WALNUT ~ COMPLETELY RESTORED
RESTORED 1956 STEINWAY CHIPPENDALE MODEL M GRAND PIANO DESCRIPTION:
The beautiful Chippendale style Steinway & Sons grand pianos are an interpretation of the renown 18th century cabinet maker’s, Thomas Chippendale, designs. Chippendale gained notoriety for his magnificent cabinetry and became much more than merely cabinet maker as he revolutionized cabinetry and provided designs that are still being used. Thomas Chippendale was the first cabinet maker to publish a book of his designs, titled
The Gentleman and a Cabinet Maker’s Director, which has been the basis of many designs over the past two centuries.
The tone of this Steinway & Sons model M parallels graceful design of the cabinetry. The lower registers resonate with the iconic reverberating Steinway bass and the upper registers have the clear, sustaining notes you’d expect from this quality of vintage instrument. Equipped with the original restored ivory key tops, the feel of the action is smooth with the speed to produce the quickest repetitions and trills.
